• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments
  
• Check eligibility through payer portals, clearinghouses, or phone
  
• Confirm policy status, copays, deductibles, and authorization requirements
  
• Document coverage details accurately in the system
  
• Communicate eligibility issues to clinical or billing teams to avoid denials
  
  

Payment Posting Key Responsibilities

• Post insurance and patient payments (EOB/ERA) into the billing system
  
• Apply adjustments, write-offs, and patient responsibility amounts correctly
  
• Reconcile deposit totals with posted payments
  
• Identify underpayments, denials, and discrepancies for follow-up
