2. Heat Load Calculations & Analysis Methods

ASHRAE Fundamentals Handbook methodologies for cooling/heating load calculation. Manual J procedures for residential and light commercial loads. Cooling Load Temperature Difference (CLTD) and Total Equivalent Temperature Differential (TETD) methods. Radiant Time Series (RTS) method for accurate part-load analysis. Understanding of design conditions (outdoor DB/WB, indoor setpoints, occupancy profiles). Solar gain calculations and shading factor considerations. Latent load calculations from occupancy, infiltration, and process moisture generation.
