HOSTEL WARDEN JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Hostel Warden

Stay Requirement: 24/7 residential stay at the hostel

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, disciplined, and caring Hostel Warden to manage the day-to-day operations of the hostel and ensure the safety, discipline, and well-being of all residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor hostel residents on a 24/7 basis.
• Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and a safe environment within the hostel.
• Manage hostel attendance and maintain daily records.
• Ensure residents follow hostel rules and regulations.
• Handle day-to-day student/resident concerns and provide appropriate support.
• Monitor entry and exit of residents and visitors.
• Coordinate with management regarding maintenance, security, and other hostel requirements.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure resident safety.
• Conduct regular checks of hostel rooms and common areas.
• Maintain proper records of incidents, complaints, and other hostel activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and management when required.
• Ensure basic hostel facilities are maintained properly.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Hostel Warden or in a similar residential supervision role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible, patient, and approachable personality.
• Ability to handle emergencies and resolve day-to-day issues.
• Basic computer knowledge and record-keeping skills.
• Willingness to stay at the hostel 24/7.
• Accommodation will be provided as part of the job.
