Walk-in || Equity Relationship Manager

We are looking for a Manager to support our venture capital investments, financial analysis, fundraising presentations, and portfolio management. The role involves evaluating startups, building financial models, analysing equity investments, and presenting investment recommendations to partners and investors.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial skills with commercial judgement and the ability to explain investment opportunities clearly.

Key Responsibilities

Investment and Financial Analysis

• Evaluate startup business models, market opportunities, competitive positioning, and growth potential.
• Analyse financial statements, revenue forecasts, cash flows, unit economics, and funding requirements.
• Build financial models covering valuation, investment returns, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Conduct financial and commercial due diligence, identifying key risks and assumptions.
• Prepare investment memoranda and recommendations for the investment committee.

Equity Analysis and Deal Evaluation

• Assess company valuations using appropriate methods, including comparable companies, transaction benchmarks, and venture capital valuation approaches.
• Analyse capitalisation tables, ownership structures, dilution, ESOP pools, and proposed funding rounds.
• Model investor returns, exit scenarios, and the impact of investment terms.
• Review term sheets and coordinate with legal and tax advisers on deal structuring and execution.

Pitching and Fundraising Support

• Develop pitch decks, investor presentations, financial summaries, and fundraising materials.
• Present investment opportunities and financial analysis to partners, investment committees, and prospective investors.
• Support investor meetings, respond to due diligence queries, and maintain organised data rooms.
• Work with portfolio founders to improve their fundraising narratives and financial projections.

Portfolio and Finance Management

• Track portfolio performance against budgets, forecasts, and agreed milestones.
• Monitor cash runway, burn rate, revenue growth, profitability, and other business-specific metrics.
• Prepare periodic portfolio reports and flag financial or operational concerns.
• Support fund budgeting, cash-flow planning, and reporting in coordination with finance teams, fund administrators, and external advisers.
• Maintain accurate investment records and coordinate with auditors and other professional advisers.

Market Research and Relationship Management

• Research sectors, emerging technologies, investment trends, and potential acquisition or exit opportunities.
• Develop relationships with founders, co-investors, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.
• Support deal sourcing and maintain an organised pipeline of investment opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• CA, CFA, or an MBA in Finance is preferred.
• 47 years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, equity research, or startup finance.
• Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, valuation, investment analysis, and preparing investor presentations.
• Working knowledge of startup funding structures, equity instruments, capitalisation tables, and investment documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong financial statement analysis and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Ability to build clear, accurate financial models and challenge underlying assumptions.
• Strong PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation skills.
• Confident written and verbal communication, including presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Sound commercial judgement, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines independently.
