Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented EM IP & OP / EM OP Specialty Coding Specialist with 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Evaluation & Management (E&M) coding. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical records and accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E&M codes for Inpatient (IP), Outpatient (OP), and Specialty encounters while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records, physician notes, and clinical documentation for accurate code assignment.
• Assign appropriate E&M, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Inpatient, Outpatient, and Specialty services.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, AMA, payer-specific, and client-specific coding guidelines.
• Identify documentation gaps and communicate with providers or relevant teams for clarification.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by organizational requirements.
• Participate in coding audits, quality reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with coding updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Support internal and external audit requirements and implement corrective actions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in EM IP & OP Coding or EM OP Specialty Coding.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Evaluation & Management (E&M) Coding
• ICD-10-CM
• CPT and HCPCS Coding
• Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet quality and productivity targets.

Mandatory Certification

Candidates must possess at least one active certification from the following:

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
• CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder)
• CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)

Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days Preferred.

Application Requirement: Candidates without a valid CPC, CRC, or CCS certification will not be considered.
