Walk-in || Desktop Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners and other IT peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system and application-related issues.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to hospital staff and users.
• Install and maintain Windows OS, MS Office, drivers, antivirus and other required software.
• Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, internet and network connectivity issues.
• Provide support for HIS/HMS, EMR, billing, laboratory, radiology and other hospital applications.
• Support biometric/attendance systems and other IT-enabled hospital systems.
• Configure and troubleshoot printers, barcode printers, scanners and other department-specific devices.
• Create and maintain user accounts, system access and basic password-related support.
• Attend and resolve IT service requests/tickets within the required time.
• Maintain records of IT assets, systems, software and service activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure systems are functioning properly.
• Coordinate with network, server, application and external vendors whenever required.
• Follow hospital IT security, data confidentiality and access control procedures.
• Support new system installations, user setups and IT requirements for new departments/locations.
• Escalate critical or unresolved issues to the IT Manager/IT Head.
• Provide onsite support during system issues and hospital operational requirements.

Job Specification

Qualification:

• Diploma / B.Sc. / BCA / B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, IT or related field.

Experience:

• Freshers can apply.
• 13 years of experience in Desktop Support / IT Support preferred.
• Candidates with hospital IT experience will be given preference.

Technical Skills:

• Good knowledge of Windows OS and MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP and network troubleshooting.
• Hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Basic knowledge of antivirus and IT security.
• Knowledge of HIS/HMS/EMR or hospital applications is an added advantage.

For Freshers:

• Good technical fundamentals and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to provide user support across different hospital departments.

Preferred Candidate:

• Experience in a hospital / healthcare environment will be an advantage.
• Should be willing to work in shifts and provide IT support during critical hospital operations, if required.
• Good communication, patience and customer-service attitude are essential.
