Walk-in || Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Create 3D models of greenhouse structures and mechanical assemblies in NX / SolidWorks / Creo, from concept to released design
• Perform FEA and structural analysis (static, buckling, load and stress) under wind, snow and crop loads before manufacture
• Run motion and assembly simulation for moving systems
• Prepare complete fabrication drawings, GA drawings and installation drawings with GD&T and tolerances
• Generate accurate BOMs, cut lists and weights directly from the 3D model
• Design steel structures and sheet metal parts for repeat manufacture using standard sections and bolted connections
• Build and maintain a standard part library and parametric / configurable assemblies
• Check drawings and models of other design engineers before release
• Support the installation team and resolve site queries

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E. / B.Tech Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical / Tool Design / Mechatronics
• 1 to 4 years of experience in mechanical design or structural design
• Experience in fabrication, SPM, conveyors, racking, sheet metal, steel structures or PEB preferred
• Strong in Siemens NX / SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor / CATIA (NX preferred)
• Hands-on FEA in NX Nastran / SolidWorks Simulation / ANSYS
• Good in AutoCAD for 2D drafting; Tekla / Advance Steel is an added advantage
• Experience releasing fabrication drawings and BOMs to the shop floor
• Valid passport and willingness to travel abroad for site work
• Quick learner, detail-oriented, able to work to tolerances
