Job Title: CSSD Technician / CSSD Staff
Department: Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)

Job Summary
To ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical and surgical instruments while maintaining infection control standards and hospital safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect used surgical instruments and medical equipment from OT, ICU, wards, and other departments.
- Perform cleaning, decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization of medical instruments as per hospital protocols.
- Operate and maintain autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and other CSSD equipment.
- Inspect, assemble, pack, and label surgical instruments and procedure sets before sterilization.
- Maintain sterilization records, equipment logs, and quality control documentation.
- Ensure proper storage and timely distribution of sterile instruments to various hospital departments.
- Monitor sterilization processes using chemical and biological indicators.
- Follow infection prevention and control guidelines, including NABH standards and hospital SOPs.
- Maintain inventory records of surgical instruments, consumables, and sterilization materials.
Qualification
- Diploma / Certificate in CSSD Technology or relevant paramedical qualification.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control procedures.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital CSSD department preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Operation of CSSD equipment.
- Infection control and NABH compliance.
