Walk-in || Conventional Machine Operator

Role & responsibilities

• Operate conventional lathe and milling machines for machining components as per drawings.
• Perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring, grooving, and other machining operations.
• Perform milling, slotting, keyway, drilling, and surface machining operations.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
• Measure components using Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and other measuring instruments.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.
• Perform machine setup, tool setting, and workpiece alignment.
• Inspect finished components and maintain required quality standards.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow safety procedures and company quality standards.
• Coordinate with the design, production, and quality teams to complete jobs within the required timeline.

Preferred candidate profile

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Fitter, or Mechanical Trade.
• 1-20 years of experience operating conventional Lathe and Milling machines.
• Good knowledge of machining operations, cutting tools, and tool selection.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and dimensions.
• Knowledge of Vernier caliper, micrometer, and other measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform accurate machining as per required tolerances.
• Basic knowledge of machine setup, tool setting, and workpiece alignment.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Willingness to work according to production schedules and deadlines.
