Operations Management

• Perform day-to-day operational activities as per approved processes, policies, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Review and validate documents, records, and data received from internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all activities are completed accurately through maker-checker controls and established procedures.
• Coordinate with Business, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and other teams for smooth processing and issue resolution.
• Support onboarding, review, renewal, and closure activities related to banking processes, products, or service providers.
• Handle operational queries and escalate exceptions or process gaps to the appropriate teams.
• Maintain proper records and documentation for audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in monitoring adherence to internal policies, operational guidelines, and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure timely closure of operational issues, observations, and customer-related concerns.

Operational Risk Management

• Assist in identifying, assessing, and monitoring operational risks across banking processes.
• Track risk incidents, control failures, process exceptions, and operational losses, if any.
• Support Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities and control testing exercises.
• Monitor implementation of controls and follow up on closure of identified gaps.
• Assist in maintaining risk registers, issue trackers, and action item logs.
• Support business teams in implementing risk mitigation measures and strengthening controls.
• Identify emerging operational risks and escalate concerns on a timely basis.
• Participate in business continuity, operational resilience, and contingency planning activities.
• Assist during internal audits, regulatory inspections, and risk reviews.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure activities are conducted in line with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and governance standards.
• Support preparation of information required for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Track action plans arising from audit observations and ensure timely closure.
• Assist in implementation of policy updates and regulatory changes.
• Maintain accurate records and evidence supporting compliance requirements.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational and risk reports.
• Maintain dashboards and management information systems (MIS) for tracking key metrics.
• Collect, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Highlight trends, exceptions, risks, and areas requiring management attention.
• Prepare presentations and reporting packs for senior management meetings and governance forums.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all operational and risk-related reports

Process Improvement & Projects

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Recommend process simplification, automation, and cycle-time reduction initiatives.
• Participate in implementation of new systems, products, or process enhancement projects.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, test case preparation, and result documentation.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Contribute ideas that improve customer experience, reduce operational risk, and enhance productivity.

Risk & Internal Control Responsibilities

• Follow all internal control standards and risk management practices.
• Ensure segregation of duties and maker-checker controls are adhered to.
• Support closure of audit observations and control gaps.
• Escalate operational incidents, exceptions, and breaches promptly.
• Promote a strong risk and compliance culture within the team.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Graduate in Commerce, Management, Finance, Economics, Banking, or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification (MBA/PGDM) will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 2 to 5 years of experience in Banking Operations, Operational Risk, Business Risk & Controls, Governance, Compliance, or related banking functions.
• Experience in Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Operations, Shared Services, or Risk functions will be preferred.

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of banking operations and operational processes.
• Understanding of Operational Risk Management concepts and controls.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Knowledge of banking applications, Core Banking Systems (CBS), and workflow tools will be advantageous.
• Ability to prepare MIS, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ownership mindset and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced banking environment.
