VMM Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Operate and program the Vision Measuring Machine (VMM) for dimensional inspection of manufactured components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to establish inspection criteria.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as per quality plans and customer requirements.
• Verify dimensions, geometrical tolerances, and critical characteristics using VMM and related measuring instruments.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain inspection records for product validation and traceability.
• Analyze measurement results and identify deviations from specified tolerances.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve dimensional issues.
• Ensure calibration status and proper maintenance of inspection equipment.
• Adhere to quality management systems, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing inspection data and documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficiency in operating VMM equipment and inspection software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Knowledge of GD&T standards and dimensional metrology.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing inspection reports.
• Familiarity with quality tools, measurement techniques, and inspection methodologies.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
