Vmc Programmer-Solid CAM

Position: VMC Programmer SolidCAM
Department: Production VMC/ CNC Machining
Experience: Min.5-6 years

Location-Ghaziabad

Role & responsibilities

• Create and modify CNC/VMC programs using SolidCAM based on 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Develop machining strategies for milling, drilling, pocketing, profiling, contouring, and 3D machining.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
• Generate and verify G-code/M-code for CNC machines.
• Perform toolpath simulation, collision checking, and program optimization using SolidCAM.
• Understand engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and machining requirements.
• Work closely with the production and tooling teams to resolve machining and programming issues.
• Optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, surface finish, and machining efficiency.
• Support first-off component development and make necessary program corrections at the machine.
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control of CNC programs.
• Troubleshoot machining problems and recommend suitable process improvements.
• Follow company quality, safety, and production standards.

Preferred candidate profile

• ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 25 years of experience in VMC programming and CNC machining.
• Good working knowledge of SolidCAM and CNC milling operations.
• Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, feeds & speeds, and machining processes.
• Understanding of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
• Experience with toolpath simulation and collision detection.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with production and quality teams.
