Role Overview

KLH University is seeking an experienced and highly responsible Senior Vigilance Officer – Student Affairs to oversee student discipline, campus vigilance, safety, student conduct, and institutional compliance.

The role requires a senior professional capable of managing student-related disciplinary matters, monitoring campus activities, coordinating with security and administration teams, and ensuring a safe, disciplined, and positive environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee student discipline and vigilance activities across the university campus.
• Monitor student behaviour and ensure adherence to the University's Student Code of Conduct.
• Supervise vigilance activities across academic blocks, hostels, common areas, cafeterias, sports facilities, and other student areas.
• Identify and appropriately escalate incidents involving ragging, bullying, harassment, substance abuse, violence, misconduct, vandalism, or other violations.
• Coordinate with the Dean – Student Affairs, faculty, hostel administration, security, counselling, and other university departments.
• Supervise and guide junior vigilance/security personnel involved in student monitoring.
• Conduct regular inspections and campus rounds to identify potential discipline and safety concerns.
• Handle student complaints and disciplinary cases in accordance with established university procedures.
• Support fact-finding and investigation of student-related incidents and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
• Ensure strict confidentiality while handling sensitive student matters.
• Monitor student gatherings, events, celebrations, and other activities requiring additional supervision.
• Coordinate with university security during emergencies, incidents, or situations involving student safety.
• Support implementation and monitoring of the University's Anti-Ragging Policy and other student welfare and safety policies.
• Develop preventive measures to reduce incidents of misconduct and improve campus discipline.
• Conduct awareness programs for students on discipline, responsible behaviour, safety, and university policies.
• Maintain comprehensive records of student disciplinary incidents, complaints, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Prepare periodic vigilance and student-discipline reports for university leadership.
• Recommend preventive and corrective measures to strengthen student safety and campus discipline.
• Liaise with parents/guardians and external authorities when required and as authorized by university management.
• Ensure that all student disciplinary matters are handled fairly, professionally, confidentially, and in accordance with university policies.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in any relevant discipline.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in student affairs, university administration, campus discipline, vigilance, hostel administration, security, or institutional operations.
• Candidates with substantial experience in universities, residential educational institutions, or large campuses will be preferred.
• Experience managing student disciplinary matters and large student populations is desirable.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, observation, investigation, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and high-pressure situations with maturity and discretion.
• Strong understanding of student safety, campus discipline, anti-ragging practices, and institutional policies.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and professionalism.
