About the Role

Mystify Entertainment Network is building a video business from the ground up across its portfolio of digital media brands. We're hiring a Video Lead to own the entire video business end to end — from format and IP creation, through production, through distribution, through the brand collaborations that video makes possible.

What You'll Own

• End-to-end video business ownership — own the video business end to end: strategy, format development, production oversight, distribution, and revenue, across every brand in the portfolio

• Short-form and long-form, as one strategy — Reels/Shorts/TikTok-native content and long-form YouTube storytelling are two ends of the same strategy, not two separate workstreams

• Original video IP creation — develop recurring formats and series with their own identity, strong enough to attract direct brand collaborations and sponsorships, not just clips cut from existing content

• Content category agnostic leadership — operate across entertainment, true crime, parenting, lifestyle, and whatever new verticals the portfolio takes on, applying the same format-building discipline regardless of topic

• Platform-native execution — Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok each have different content grammar and algorithm behavior; know all four well enough to adapt format and cadence per platform, not post the same cut everywhere

• Full production pipeline — concept through production, editing, publishing, and performance review, managed end to end

Requirements

• Degree or background in filmmaking, direction, scriptwriting, or a combination of these

• Bold thinker with a penchant for doing the abnormal and breaking patterns

• Understands what resonates with audiences across platforms and demographics

• Commercial mindset built in from idea level to execution to revenue

• Inclination to become a valuable contributor in a small company in the mid to long term, and approaches the role accordingly

• Understands how and when users become hooked on video and pay to watch

• Demonstrated experience owning a video business or video function end to end — able to speak concretely to formats or series launched from idea to success, not just channels managed

• Track record creating original video IP that attracted brand deals or sponsorships specifically because of the format's own identity and audience

• Deep understanding of how audiences consume content natively on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok

• Comfortable operating across content categories — this is not a single-vertical specialist role

• Strong grasp of both short-form and long-form video strategy, and when each is the right tool

• Cross-functional ownership — comfortable owning outcomes that depend on editorial, design, and leadership moving together, not just your own function's output

• Bias to ship fast in a resource-constrained, fast-moving media business

Preferred Requirements

• 3-7 years of total video content, production, or video-first creator/media experience, including managing a team of video editors

• Prior experience in digital media, publishing, or entertainment content is a plus

• Prior experience launching original video IP or franchises that led to brand collaborations is a bonus
