Job Description

We are looking for an experienced VP / Senior Software Engineer - Java to join a high-performing engineering team developing scalable, high-performance enterprise applications in the financial services domain.

The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, microservices, distributed systems, and system architecture. The role requires an experienced engineer who can contribute to architectural decisions, write high-quality code, optimize application performance, and drive engineering excellence across complex enterprise platforms.

Candidates with experience in investment banking, capital markets, financial services, or product-based technology organizations are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect and implement microservices-based and distributed systems.
• Design and develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Build low-latency, high-throughput applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Apply advanced Java concepts, including multithreading, concurrency, collections, and JVM optimization.
• Participate in system design, solution architecture, technical reviews, and architectural decision-making.
• Develop cloud-native applications using AWS and contribute to infrastructure initiatives involving Kubernetes and Docker.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve application performance, resiliency, and scalability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship while remaining actively involved in hands-on development.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java and advanced Java concepts.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Practical experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems.
• Strong system design and architectural problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience developing high-performance, low-latency applications.
• Strong coding, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Technical Skills

• AWS cloud services.
• Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and Docker.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and enterprise database technologies.
• Distributed caching, messaging systems, and application monitoring.
• Enterprise-scale platform development and modernization.

Experience and Qualification

• 9-16 Yrs of relevant software engineering experience. Candidates with up to 17 Yrs may be considered selectively.
• Engineering degree from a reputed institution.
• Candidates from investment banking and financial services should ideally have experience at VP level.
• Candidates from product-based technology organizations should ideally have experience as Technical Architects, Senior Technical Architects, Staff Engineers, or Principal Engineers, subject to eligibility.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Candidates must be prepared to complete the following selection stages:

Selection Process

• Total 6 rounds of selection.
• 1 Codility Technical Assessment - 2 hours, proctored.
• 2 Face-to-Face Interviews.
• Remaining rounds will cover technical evaluation and hiring discussions.

• Location: Kharadi, Pune.
• Work Arrangement: 4 Days Work from Office per week.
• Working Hours: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
• Candidates must be comfortable working from the Pune office according to the organization's work arrangement.

Important Note

This is a senior, hands-on engineering position requiring strong technical depth in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, distributed systems, multithreading, and performance engineering.

Candidates with predominantly people-management, production-support, or maintenance experience without substantial hands-on engineering expertise may not be suitable.
