About this role
Role Overview Santa Browser is looking for a motivated fresher/intern who wants to learn Android development the modern way — by pairing AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot) with core Android fundamentals to build and iterate on our Android browser app. This is a hands-on learning role: you'll work closely with the product and ad monetization team, ship real features under guidance, and pick up production-grade practices around code review, testing, and app releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining features for the Santa Browser Android app using Kotlin/Java and Android Studio, under mentorship.
- Learn to use AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to speed up prototyping and debugging, while understanding the code being generated.
- Support integration and testing of ad mediation SDKs (AppLovin MAX, AdMob, Gamzop, and similar) alongside the monetization team.
- Help translate product requirements (small features, UI tweaks, bug fixes) into working app builds.
- Write and review code with guidance, building the habit of checking AI-generated output for correctness and quality before it ships.
- Get hands-on with Git, build pipelines, and the basics of Play Console releases.
- Help identify and fix simple bugs, crashes, and UI issues under supervision.
- Participate in daily standups and sprint planning with the product and monetization team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (BCA/BE/BTech/MCA or equivalent).
- Basic understanding of Android development fundamentals: Kotlin or Java, and some exposure to Android Studio.
- Curiosity about or prior personal-project experience with AI coding assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Basic familiarity with Git/GitHub.
- Eagerness to learn quickly, take feedback well, and work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to ask for help/clarification when stuck.
Preferred / Nice To Have
- Personal or academic Android projects (published or unpublished) — GitHub link or APK demo welcome.
- Any exposure to WebView-based apps or browser-type applications.
- Basic awareness of mobile ad SDKs (AppLovin, AdMob) or interest in ad-tech/monetization.
- Familiarity with Firebase basics (Auth, Analytics, Firestore).
What Success Looks Like
- Comfortably shipping small, well-tested features by the end of the internship with reducing need for hand-holding.
- Developing a disciplined habit of reviewing and understanding AI-generated code rather than blindly accepting it.
- Strong candidates may be considered for a full-time offer (PPO) based on performance.
Note: This is a paid internship.Skills: github, apk, android development
