Role Overview

Protco Technologies is looking for a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to build intuitive and visually engaging digital experiences for our IoT and smart automation products. The role involves understanding user needs, simplifying complex workflows, and translating product requirements into accessible, consistent designs for web and mobile applications.

You will work closely with product and engineering teams, contributing throughout the design processfrom research and wireframes to prototypes and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile applications.
• Design responsive, mobile-first interfaces with clear navigation and consistent visual elements.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to identify pain points and improve the user experience.
• Translate complex device interactions and product features into simple, easy-to-use interfaces.
• Develop and maintain reusable UI components, design systems, and style guidelines.
• Collaborate with developers to provide design specifications, assets, and implementation support.
• Review implemented designs to ensure visual consistency and alignment with the intended user experience.
• Refine designs based on user feedback, stakeholder inputs, and testing findings.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2- 5 years of experience in UI/UX design or a similar role.
• A portfolio demonstrating relevant projects, design decisions, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• Working knowledge of user research, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing.
• Strong visual design skills, including typography, colour, spacing, and layout.
• Understanding accessibility principles and usability best practices.
• Ability to explain design decisions clearly and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage design tasks in a growing startup environment.

Good to Have

• Experience designing for IoT, smart home, or connected-device applications.
• Familiarity with dashboards, and device-control interfaces.
• Experience with Figma, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for image editing, icons, and visual assets.
• Exposure ProtoPie or Framer for advanced prototyping and interactive design.
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS to support collaboration with developers.
