US Tax Preparer - Individual and Business Returns

Credfino LLP is looking for a US Tax Preparer with 1-4 years of experience to join its Tax Preparation & Compliance team in Indore.

The role involves preparing US Individual and Business Tax Returns, working with financial records and supporting documents, identifying applicable deductions and credits, and ensuring accurate and compliant tax filings as per US federal and state requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare US Individual and Business Tax Returns including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S.
• Review financial statements, trial balances, general ledgers and supporting documents.
• Identify applicable deductions, credits, adjustments and tax-saving opportunities.
• Prepare supporting schedules including K-1, M-1, M-2 and other relevant forms.
• Assist with federal and state tax filings, extensions, amended returns and estimated tax payments.
• Prepare returns using tax software such as Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries or ProConnect.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information in coordination with clients and senior professionals.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance and timely completion of tax returns, particularly during peak season.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 1-4 years of experience in US Tax Preparation.
• Hands-on experience with US Business Tax Returns Forms 1065, 1120 and 1120S.
• Strong understanding of US taxation concepts for Partnerships, Corporations and S-Corporations.
• Proficiency in US tax preparation software such as Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries or ProConnect.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines during peak tax season.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with willingness to learn.

Good to Have

• CPA or EA certification.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Experience working with US CPA firms or outsourced tax teams.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software.
• Exposure to multi-state business filings and consolidated returns.
• Knowledge of foreign ownership reporting including Forms 5471, 8858 and 8865.
• Experience reviewing work of junior team members or providing mentoring.
