About this role
- Conduct OPD, IPD, and emergency consultations for urological patients.
- Diagnose and manage conditions involving the kidneys, urinary tract, bladder, prostate, and male reproductive system.
- Perform urological procedures and surgeries, including endourology, laparoscopic urology, and transurethral procedures, depending on expertise and hospital facilities.
- Manage common conditions such as kidney/urinary stones, BPH, urinary obstruction, UTI, urinary incontinence, prostate disorders, and urological cancers.
- Handle urological emergencies such as acute urinary retention, hematuria, obstruction, urosepsis, and urological trauma.
- Provide pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, post-operative care, and follow-up.
- Interpret relevant investigations including ultrasound, CT/MRI, laboratory tests, and endoscopic findings.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and recovery.
- Coordinate with Nephrology, Oncology, Radiology, Anaesthesia, ICU, and other departments for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital/NABH protocols.
- Guide junior doctors and participate in clinical discussions, audits, teaching, and quality-improvement activities.
