Urgently Looking For Patient Safety Nurse

• Ensuring planning, implementing and evaluating patient safety goals in the hospital
• Educating the staff and patient relatives in the prevention of falls and in safe practices
• Conducting hazardous material (HAZMAT) training program, safety awareness, to staff and health care workers
• Ensuring the safe administration of blood and blood products
• Ensuring safety in surgical procedures and Theatre protocol
• Planning, executing and documenting daily patient rounds
• Assisting in prevention of pressure ulcers by identifying vulnerable patients using Braden Scale
• Conducting daily surveillance for burns care and crush injury care, wound management and pain management
• Ensuring the usage of protocols for wound management, wound debridement and amputation
• Demonstrating surgical dressing for RNs at the bed-side as per their learning needs based on updated best practices
• Ensuring basic credentials to RN’s (Patient safety)
• Assisting in conducting Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Classes for the Registered Nurses (RN’s) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM’s)
• Participating in competency assessment for RN’s along with the Nurse Educator
• Participating in competency based assessment for Critical Care Nurses along with the Nurse Educator
• Participating in conducting annual competency exam along with the Nurse Educator
• Organizing and maintaining reports for internal and external workshops/symposiums/conferences along with the Nurse Educator
• Educating the patient and the family members about patient safety practices in hospital.
• Educating the staff about the policies and procedures related to patient safety
• Being a part of the team for in the editorial and publication in Nursing (Journals, Newspapers, Nursing Clinical Practice Manual etc)
• Participating in planning, conducting and evaluating the short term courses in Nursing – Critical Care and Comprehensive Care Nursing, Operation Theatre Nursing, Transplant Nursing – Renal, Liver and Cardiac
• Participating in organizing and maintaining reports for internal and external workshops/symposiums/conferences
• Preceptoring nursing graduates at both the national and international levels
• Conducting nursing care audits based on Standard Operating Procedures developed at the Nursing Directorate and that of GHM
• Involving in measuring, analyzing and interpreting quality indicators, and developing action

plan to reach the set target

• Contributing as a committee member in assigned committees of the Nursing Directorate and GHM
• Balancing between quality sustenance and cost cutting as a part of hospital lean management and efficiency evaluation
• Maintaining appropriate feedback system both vertical and horizontal without disturbing the morale of the individuals and educate them on the same
• Liaising with consultants and heads of other departments for effective implementation of patient care and minimizing errors of omission and commission
• Maintaining relevant documents and adherence to established reporting system
• Periodically updating knowledge on clinical and administrative areas, translating them at the bed side and participating in their continuing nursing education
• Maintaining professional decorum at all times and serving as a role model to their staff and branding both the organization and the nursing profession
• Supporting the CNO in all aspects of quality care and nursing administration at GHM
