Role - UPI Product Manager

Qualification- BE/B.Tech (Tier 1 insititute) /+ MBA from institute of repute

Job Location- Mumbai

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Product Vision & Strategic Leadership

• Define and drive the multiyear product strategy for UPI across Issuer, Acquirer, PSP, TPAP, Merchant, and NPCI ecosystems.
• Translate regulatory direction (NPCI circulars, RBI guidelines) into strategic product evolution.
• Identify white spaces and new platform opportunities (e.g., risk stack modernization, ondevice flows, enhanced QR capabilities, offline UPI, credit rails).

2. Platform Design & Technical Architecture

• Own API strategy, microservices architecture, throughput planning, and scalability improvements.
• Guide engineering teams on:
• API contracts & schemas
• Eventdriven systems (Kafka/Pulsar)
• Transaction lifecycle management
• Idempotency, retries, concurrency control
• Edge-case design across UPI flows
• Ensure platform readiness for peak traffic (e.g., festival surges, online sales events).

3. Delivery Leadership & Program Management

• Lead multisquad delivery across Product, Engineering, QA, Infra, InfoSec, Risk, and Ops.
• Own quarterly OKRs and product increments.
• Oversee conformance testing, GoLive readiness, and enterprisegrade release management with feature flags/canaries.

4. Ecosystem & Partner Ownership

• Drive bank/TPAP partnerships, integration cycles, SLA definition, and performance governance.
• Represent product in NPCI working groups, industry bodies, and regulatory alignment forums.
• Strengthen merchant acquisition flows, QR deployment, partner onboarding, and dispute/chargeback processes.

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Lead audits, certification cycles, and compliance with UPI specifications (2.0, 3.x, Lite, AutoPay, CoU, 123PAY).
• Establish and continuously enhance:
• Risk rules
• Fraud prevention models
• Behavioral and device intelligence
• Velocity parameters
• Ensure system security: mTLS, HSM, encryption, KMS, tokenization (if applicable).

6. Data, Insights & Optimization

• Build and own the product measurement framework.
• Define observability and telemetry with SRE (latency, drops, error codes, partnerwise insights).
• Lead rootcause analyses and incident reviews with preventive & corrective actions.

7. Team Leadership

• Guide PMs, BAs, and cross-functional squads as a senior leader.
• Drive product excellence, documentation standards, and review mechanisms.
