Role & responsibilities

Train Operations

• Give signals for train arrivals and departures.
• Coordinate train movements with nearby stations.
• Ensure trains run according to the schedule.

Safety Management

• Ensure passenger and train safety.
• Follow railway operating rules and safety procedures.
• Handle emergencies, accidents, or operational disruptions.

Station Administration

• Maintain station records and registers.
• Monitor signalling and interlocking systems.
• Coordinate with loco pilots, guards, and control offices.

Passenger Service

• Make announcements regarding train arrivals and departures.
• Address passenger queries during operational issues.
• Ensure smooth handling of platform activities.

Communication

• Stay in constant contact with control rooms and adjoining stations.
• Relay operational information to railway staff.
