Unemployment Insurance Claims Specialist (Night Shift)

Role & responsibilities

• Process UI claims, protests, and appeals in compliance with company policies and state regulations
• Collaborate with field operations and recruiters to gather necessary documentation for claims defense
• Investigate claim validity, gather necessary documentation, and respond to state UI agencies
• Ensure responses comply with state-specific unemployment laws and employer guidelines
• Prepare protest letters and appeals for disputed claims
• Track and report claim trends, identifying opportunities to reduce UI costs and improve processes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UI laws, regulatory changes, and best practices
• Identify fraudulent or incorrect claims and escalate as needed
• Maintain organized and detailed records of all claims, appeals, and determinations for audits and reporting
• Work closely with HR, payroll, and compliance teams to ensure accurate claim handling
• Partner with legal and risk management teams to support UI hearings and complex claims
• Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate job separation documentation
• Support internal training efforts related to UI claims and best practices
