Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced QA Test Engineer with a strong foundation in Quality Assurance principles, hands-on experience with QA tools, and expertise in UFT automation for desktop applications. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing automation solutions using Python with UFT, working knowledge of SQL for database validation, Unix commands for environment and log analysis, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using UFT and Python for desktop and enterprise applications.

Execute manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Develop and enhance automation frameworks leveraging UFT, Python, and data-driven approaches.

Perform database validation using SQL queries to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Utilize Unix/Linux commands for log analysis, file handling, and environment verification.

Collaborate effectively with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA team members to understand requirements and define test strategies.

Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback to ensure testability and quality coverage.

Document test results, report defects, and track them using test management tools such as HP ALM, Octane, and Jira.

Participate in test planning, estimation, status reporting, and release readiness assessments.

Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with QA best practices, organizational standards, and automation guidelines.

Good to have Selenium/Java experience.

Required Skills Qualifications:

7-10 years of QA Automation experience with UFT and Selenium.

Strong proficiency in UFT/QTP automation for desktop and enterprise applications.

Hands-on experience developing and maintaining UFT automation scripts using Python.

Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks using UFT and Python.

Basic understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile, and STLC.

Hands-on experience with QA tools such as HP ALM/QC, Octane, and Jira.

Ability to write and execute SQL queries for database validation and data reconciliation.

Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands for log analysis, troubleshooting, and environment checks.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with business users, developers, project managers, and QA teams.

Strong documentation skills, including test plans, test cases, automation design documents, and status reports.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid automation frameworks in UFT.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for automation execution and reporting.

Knowledge of API testing and integration testing.

Experience with Git/Bitbucket version control and automation code management.

Experience working in Banking or Financial Services domains is a plus.

Exposure to Playwright or modern automation frameworks is an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Strong experience in UFT automation with Python scripting.

Ability to lead automation initiatives and mentor junior QA engineers.
