Role Description The UAV Integration and Flight Test Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The engineer will be responsible for integrating avionics, propulsion, payloads, and subsystems on UAV platforms and preparing them for ground and flight testing. Daily tasks include planning and executing flight test campaigns, developing test procedures, collecting and analyzing test data, and documenting results for performance validation and certification support. The role involves close collaboration with design, systems, and software teams to troubleshoot integration issues, refine system architectures, and ensure airworthiness and safety. The engineer will also support test range operations, pre- and post-flight briefings, and continuous improvement of test methods and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Flight Test Engineering and Flight Test planning, execution, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Aircraft and UAV systems, including integration of avionics, propulsion, and payload subsystems.
- Educational background in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field, with practical exposure to flight dynamics and performance.
- Proficiency in Systems Engineering principles, including requirements definition, interface control, verification, and validation.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, test range operations, and relevant aviation regulations for UAVs.
- Ability to use data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar) for test evaluation.
- Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline; prior UAV or flight test experience is highly desirable.
