Tricentis Tosca Automation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

A LiveCompare Resource to focus on designing, building, and maintaining Tricentis LiveCompare workflows and Apps that analyze SAP landscapes with a special emphasis on custom ABAP code quality, impact analysis, and change risk assessment across transports, support packs, and ChaRM-driven changes. The role operationalizes LiveCompares workflow-driven development environment to automate what to test” decisions, integrate with change tools (e.g., ChaRM), and continuously improve custom code quality and release confidence.

* Workflow Design and Development

• Build, customize, and optimize LiveCompare workflows that retrieve, compare, and analyze SAP objects, dependencies, and code quality; persist and present results via datasets, reports, and charts.
• Convert workflows into Apps where appropriate to simplify execution and parameter input for non-technical users.

* Custom Code Quality and Impact Analysis

• Implement and Maintain workflows that automatically detect ABAP code changes
• Use “smart impact analysis” to identify used, impacted, and most-at-risk objects and prioritize test scope around high-risk executables, users, roles, and interfaces.

* Change and Release Integration

• Integrate LiveCompare with SAP ChaRM to trigger asynchronous impact analysis when change requests reach configured statuses (e.g., Implemented), and expose reports back to stakeholders.
• Configure HTTP/RFC connections and REST API calls between Charm and LiveCompare and manage action profiles (manual and auto triggers) for impact analysis execution.

* Reporting and Decision Support

• Produce actionable reports and dashboards that highlight risk, test gaps, and code quality findings; help optimize regression scope and accelerate releases.

* Operations, Governance, and Enablement

• Manage workflow execution schedules, workspaces, datasets, and role-based security access within the LiveCompare platform.
• Train testers on using LiveCompare Apps and results to streamline test selection and reduce hyper-care risk.
• Collaborate with ABAP, Basis, QA, and ALM/DevOps teams to embed LiveCompare in SDLC and release processes, including Tosca when applicable.

* LiveCompare Expertise

• Proficient with LiveCompare workflow authoring (actions, parameters, datasets), templates, Apps, scheduling, and repository/workspace management.
• Hands-on experience with impact analysis patterns, dependency discovery, comparison actions, and report generation for SAP systems.
• Experience integrating LiveCompare with ChaRM via REST API,

* SAP and ABAP Foundations

• Strong understanding of SAP transports, ChaRM processes, and object dependencies affecting custom code and business processes.
• Familiarity with ABAP code structures, unit testing, and quality check concepts to interpret and operationalize results in workflows.

* Toolchain and ALM Awareness

• Exposure to test repositories/automation (e.g., Tosca) and ability to align LiveCompare outputs to test gap identification and prioritization.
• Comfort working within role-based access models and enterprise governance for analytics platforms.
• Strong understanding of SAP transports, ChaRM processes, and object dependencies affecting custom code and business processes.

Requirements

Preferred candidate profile

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

* Minimum 4 years’ experience with Tricentis tool set which includes TOSCA and Live Compare

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in working with LiveCompare for SAP test impact analysis

* Minimum 4 years’ experience in working with other Tricentis products and integrations

* Experience in SAP testing and SAP landscape

* Minimum 4 years’ experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies

* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

* PowerShell, PowerBI and SQL server experience

* ADO Pipeline experience
