Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced professional in Transport Procurement, Market Vehicle Hiring, and FTL Operations with strong expertise in vehicle costing, rate negotiation, online bidding, and reverse auctions. The ideal candidate should have a strong network of brokers, fleet owners, and transporters, along with the commercial acumen to make quick, profitable decisions in highly competitive bidding scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage market vehicle hiring and transport procurement for FTL (Full Truck Load) operations.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of transporters, brokers, fleet owners, and vendors.
• Calculate end-to-end transportation costs for different origin-to-destination routes, considering per-kilometre running costs, fuel, tolls, driver expenses, loading/unloading, detention, and other operational expenses.
• Participate in online bidding, e-bidding, and reverse auctions to secure profitable business.
• Analyse target rates, market rates, cost structures, and margins to make quick commercial decisions during live bidding.
• Identify cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.
• Negotiate competitive rates with transporters and fleet owners to ensure vehicle availability and cost-effective procurement.
• Evaluate profitability, contribution margins, and commercial feasibility before finalising rates.
• Monitor market trends, vehicle availability, and transportation costs to support procurement decisions.
• Coordinate with internal sales and operations teams to meet customer requirements and business targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in market vehicle hiring and transport procurement.
• Practical experience in FTL vehicle hiring and transporter rate negotiation.
• Expertise in online bidding, e-bidding, and reverse auction platforms.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of route-wise transportation costing and profitability calculations.
• Established network of brokers, fleet owners, and transporters.
• Ability to make quick, data-driven decisions during competitive live bidding.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for cost calculations, rate comparisons, and profitability analysis.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with practical exposure to FTL operations, market vehicle placement, transport procurement, live bidding, reverse auctions, and end-to-end transportation cost analysis will be preferred.
