Transport Manager

Job Summary

To plan, direct, and manage the safe and efficient operation of the school s transport department, ensuring compliance with transport laws, school policies, and student safety regulations while managing budget, fleet maintenance, and driver scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Fleet & Route Operations: Design daily routes and event transport, track GPS, and adjust schedules for delays or weather.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce transport laws, conduct vehicle inspections, manage emergency procedures, and lead safety drills.
• Staff Management: Recruit, vet, train, schedule, and supervise drivers, conductors, and attendants.
• Maintenance & Vendors: Oversee fuel tracking, vehicle repairs, vendor contracts, and fleet upkeep.
• Parent Relations: Handle parent inquiries, address transport delays, and resolve bus safety/discipline incidents.
• Administration & Budget: Manage the department budget, maintain ridership/cost records, and ensure valid insurance and vehicle permits.
