Position Title: Trainer for Remedial Education & School Entrance Exam Preparation. Project: Remedial Education & School Entrance Exam Preparation Project (Under Jindal STEM Project). Location: Angul District, Odisha. Reporting To: Project Coordinator / Project Manager.
About the Project: The Remedial Education & School Entrance Exam Preparation Project aims to improve foundational learning levels among students while preparing them for competitive school entrance examinations such as the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Entrance Examination and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Entrance Examination. The project seeks to bridge learning gaps, strengthen conceptual understanding, and enhance students academic performance through structured remedial classes, assessments, mentoring, and exam preparation support.
Purpose of the Position: The Trainer will be responsible for conducting remedial classes and entrance examination preparation sessions for students of Classes 38. The Trainer will identify learning gaps, deliver engaging instructional sessions, track student progress, and support students in achieving improved academic outcomes and success in competitive entrance examinations.
Responsibilities - Conduct baseline assessments to identify learning levels and academic gaps.
- Design and deliver remedial classes in Mathematics, Science, English, and other relevant subjects.
- Use activity-based and learner-centric teaching methodologies to improve foundational skills.
- Prepare students for entrance examinations such as JNV, OAV, NMMS, and other relevant scholarship or admission tests.
- Teach Mathematics, Mental Ability, Reasoning, Language, and General Knowledge as per examination requirements.
- Conduct periodic assessments and mock examinations.
- Maintain student attendance, assessment records, and performance reports.
- Analyze learning outcomes and implement corrective action plans.
- Share regular progress updates with project management and schools.
- Encourage regular attendance and active participation.
- Support students in developing confidence, discipline, and self-learning habits.
- Coordinate with school teachers and principals for smooth implementation.
- Conduct parent meetings to discuss student progress and learning support at home.
- Promote awareness regarding educational opportunities and entrance examinations.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Maintain records of attendance, assessments, lesson plans, and student performance.
- Document success stories and project achievements.
- Assist in student selection and mobilization activities.
- Support project events, orientation sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
- Participate in capacity-building and training programs organized by the organization.
Essential
- Bachelors degree in education, Science, Mathematics, Arts, or related discipline.
Preferred
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in schools, coaching institutes, or educational projects.
- Experience in remedial education programs.
- Experience preparing students for JNV, OAV, NMMS, Sainik School, scholarship exams, or similar entrance examinations.
- Experience working with NGOs and community-based education programs.
