Job Responsibilities:

Key accountabilities & responsibilities

This role of a tour consultant / proposal writer fulfils the following responsibilities within the Organisation:

• To initiate and close booking of Accommodation, Transport, etc. as per the Itinerary and communicate on time (as per TAT) requisite information/ documents to the Client, Vendor and Service Delivery offices for smooth implementation of the tour.
• Re-negotiation of rates with the vendors to further increase file profitability.
• Leverage opportunities for upselling/ cross-selling whilst the guest is in destination to increase the file margins.
• Maintain all the reservations and booking data in Travel Assist, as per pre-defined TAT.
• To prepare vouchers and share the briefing sheet/TA document kit with the respective service delivery teams, as per pre-defined TAT and quality guidelines.
• Take regular updates from the Guide accompanying the guest on the progress of the tour and keep the seniors informed.
• Resolve or escalate, well within time, in case there are any specific points of concern/ incidents raised by the guest whist they are in destination. format and other ISO guidelines.
• Staying up to speed on the latest updates in Product & Content library; best practise trends in the market.
• Effective query management (response time, response quality) and hence drive proposal conversion rate.
• Seek to comprehend the expectation and scope of services required. Prepare and ask relevant questions to clarify specifications essential to developing a proposal in line with the client needs.
• Participate in Internal FAM trips, local trade shows (if applicable) to continuously enhance knowledge about the different destinations.
• Ensure timely delivery of high quality and innovative proposals.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies required to fulfil role:

• Strong background of Proposal making; minimum experience of 2 years in creating itineraries.
• Good knowledge about the destination.
• Preference given to foreign language capability
• Preferably well-travelled with knowledge about the Product
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Innovative bent of mind, capable of thinking in and out of the box.
• Strong orientation towards customer satisfaction.
