Tool Setter/ Mould Setter

Role & responsibilities

Mold & Tool Setting:

• Perform mold changeover on plastic injection molding machines as per production plan.
• Ensure correct alignment, clamping, cooling connections, hydraulic and pneumatic hookups.
• Set and optimize mold safety, ejector system, core-pull mechanisms, and safety interlocks.
• Process setting after mold change and handover machines for mass production.

Machine Setup & Process Control:

• Set and optimize Molding machine parameter related to injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, flow lines, and other molding defects.
• Support initiatives to reduce changeover time.
• Interface PLCs with robots, conveyors, chillers, hot runners, and material handling systems.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Identify and report tool wear, damage, and abnormalities to the tool room team.
• Assist in preventive maintenance of molds.

Quality & Safety:

• Ensure production complies with quality standards, SOPs, and control plans.
• Follow EHS and safety guidelines during mold change and machine operation.

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes
• Hands-on experience in mold setting and changeover

• Team collaboration and communication

Qualifications:

ITI with 25 years of experience in plastic injection molding

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with robotic automation and hot runner systems
• Knowledge of process validation and cycle time optimization

Working Conditions:

• Shop floorbased role
• Rotational shifts as per production requirements
