TechOps Engineer I

Responsibilities:

Production Support

• Provide L1/L2 production support for Zaakpay payment gateway applications; follow runbooks and escalate complex issues to the TechOps Lead or L3 within defined SLAs
• Monitor real-time payment transactions, including bank and acquirer-level success rates, and flag anomalies early
• Track transaction success rates, availability and latency against targets, and report deviations promptly
• Investigate production issues using application logs, dashboards and monitoring tools, and help identify likely causes in Java-based applications
• Support the team in testing and validating fixes and hotfixes before and after release

Incident Management

• Respond to alerts and incidents, take first-level action as per runbooks, and keep stakeholders updated on status
• Assist in root cause analysis and help prepare post-incident reports
• Follow up on preventive actions and help reduce repeat incidents
• Maintain accurate incident, ticket and shift-handover records

Data and Databases

• Write and run MySQL and MongoDB queries for statistics, reconciliation checks and business reports
• Help investigate data discrepancies and database performance issues, and escalate to the DBA or engineering teams when needed
• Learn query tuning, indexing, replication and replica set basics from senior team members

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in TechOps, Production Support, Application Support or Application Operations
• Working knowledge of Java-based applications: reading stack traces, understanding application behavior and logs, and basic awareness of thread and heap issues
• Good hands-on skills in MySQL (joins, aggregations, subqueries, basic query optimization) and working knowledge of MongoDB (queries, aggregation, indexes)
• Ability to perform log analysis and basic troubleshooting for production issues
• Working knowledge of Python and Bash scripting to automate small operational tasks and build reports
• Good understanding of Linux fundamentals (file system, processes, permissions, common commands) and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS)
• Willingness to work in shifts and to support a 24x7 production environment, with a sense of ownership and urgency
• Experience in payment systems, fintech or transaction platforms is a plus
