Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to design, build, implement, and support highly available network solutions that enable seamless movement of live customer traffic between systems without disrupting active connections. The candidate will be responsible for Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, TCP/IP troubleshooting, failover networking, packet analysis, and network resiliency across mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure.
• Manage VLANs, routing, switching, subnetting, routing tables, and packet forwarding.
• Analyze and troubleshoot TCP/IP communication, socket behavior, and stateful connections.
• Support High Availability (HA) and Active-Active network architectures.
• Perform failover testing, traffic draining, IP movement, and recovery operations with minimal impact on live traffic.
• Troubleshoot ARP/GARP, NAT, and routing-related issues.
• Perform packet-level diagnostics using Wireshark, tcpdump, and similar network analysis tools.
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux networking components, interfaces, routes, and sockets.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support stateful traffic movement and connection preservation.
• Participate in integration, performance, resiliency, and production readiness testing.
• Prepare technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
