Technician Assistant / Junior Engineer - Cylindrical Grinding

Job Summary

The Technician Assistant / Junior Engineer - Cylindrical Grinding is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring cylindrical grinding machines to achieve specified dimensional and surface finish requirements. The role involves machine operation, quality inspection, preventive maintenance support, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cylindrical grinding machines as per production requirements.
• Set up grinding machines, fixtures, and workpieces according to engineering drawings.
• Interpret technical drawings, process sheets, and specifications.
• Measure components using precision instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per quality standards.
• Perform wheel dressing and basic machine adjustments.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Assist in reducing rework, rejection, and machine downtime.
• Maintain production records and inspection reports.
• Follow 5S, safety, and quality management procedures.
• Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
