    Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

As a Technical Training Specialist (DCO), you will be responsible for delivering technical training programs focused on IT infrastructure, server hardware, networking equipment, and break-fix operations for Data Center Operations teams. You will manage and conduct initial technical training programs for new hires, ensuring they are properly equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS's sophisticated IT infrastructure within the data center environment.

    Key job responsibilities

    Training Program Management

    • Design and deliver engaging instructor-led training sessions covering IT infrastructure operations, server hardware, networking equipment, and break-fix procedures
    • Manage all logistics of Initial Training programs, including scheduling, classroom coordination, and lab space utilization
    • Conduct hands-on training on server deployment, rack operations, hardware diagnostics, and component-level troubleshooting
    • Maintain and certify instructor qualifications and perform certification observations
    • Monitor trainee progress and address any behavioral or policy issues
    • Process training completions and maintain accurate training records

    Learning Lab Management

    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all IT lab equipment and training facilities
    • Maintain and optimize training spaces, server racks, networking gear, and break-fix workstations
    • Develop and implement SOPs for lab equipment operation including servers, switches, routers, and cabling systems
    • Create practical training scenarios that simulate real-world IT hardware failures and break-fix situations
    • Support setup and commissioning of new training labs
    • Prepare lab equipment and spaces for upcoming training sessions

    Program Development & Improvement

    • Collaborate with SMEs to develop/update training materials for IT operations
    • Identify and implement improvements to training content and delivery methods
    • Create training resources for hardware break-fix, network troubleshooting, and server operations
    • Stay current with latest technologies and practices
