Responsibilities

• Monitor Linux servers and ensure system availability.
• Perform routine server health checks and maintenance activities.
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.
• Troubleshoot basic Linux OS issues and service-related incidents.
• Apply patches and updates as per organizational procedures.
• Monitor system logs and escalate issues when required.
• Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities.
• Maintain operational documentation and reports.
• Coordinate with senior engineers for issue resolution and project activities.
• Participate in shift operations, if required.

Requirements

• Basic hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu).
• Understanding of Linux commands, file systems, permissions, and process management.
• Familiarity with SSH, networking fundamentals, and basic troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of server monitoring concepts.
• Basic shell scripting knowledge is desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Basic exposure to VMware, KVM, or other virtualization platforms.
• Awareness of containers, Kubernetes, or OpenShift concepts.
• Basic knowledge of OpenShift Virtualization will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is beneficial but not mandatory.
