About the Role Skylark Labs is seeking a highly organized and technically inclined
Technical Program Manager to drive
engineering roadmap execution, KPI tracking, and cross-functional program delivery across multiple engineering initiatives. This role is focused on ensuring engineering teams execute against strategic priorities by tracking milestones, monitoring key performance indicators, identifying execution risks, and coordinating work across AI/ML, robotics, software, and infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with exceptional organizational and project management skills and enjoys bringing structure, visibility, and accountability to complex engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities Roadmap Execution
- Own and drive execution of engineering roadmaps across multiple technical teams.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
- Monitor roadmap progress and proactively identify risks, blockers, and dependencies.
- Coordinate engineering priorities with leadership to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule through effective planning and follow-up.
KPI Tracking & Program Management
- Define, maintain, and report engineering and product KPIs.
- Build dashboards and recurring executive reports tracking engineering progress.
- Monitor sprint velocity, release timelines, roadmap completion, quality metrics, and team deliverables.
- Track action items, ownership, deadlines, and program health across departments.
- Escalate execution risks and recommend mitigation plans.
- Continuously improve reporting processes and execution visibility.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate work across Engineering, AI/ML, Robotics, Product, DevOps, QA, Business Development, and Leadership.
- Organize technical planning meetings, roadmap reviews, and status updates.
- Ensure teams remain aligned on priorities, dependencies, and delivery schedules.
- Facilitate communication between technical and business stakeholders.
Technical Program Delivery
- Support engineering planning, release management, and milestone tracking.
- Maintain technical documentation, project plans, and execution timelines.
- Help engineering leadership prioritize initiatives based on business impact and technical dependencies.
- Improve operational processes to increase execution efficiency.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare weekly and monthly executive reports.
- Analyze engineering performance trends and delivery metrics.
- Provide leadership with visibility into roadmap progress and organizational execution.
- Support data-driven planning and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, or another technical discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, Product Operations, or Project Management.
- Experience managing technical projects in Agile environments.
- Experience tracking KPIs, engineering metrics, and program execution.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Robotics, or Business Administration.
- Experience working with AI/ML, robotics, computer vision, autonomous systems, or defense technologies.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering organizations.
- Experience creating executive dashboards and KPI reports.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, Monday.com, or similar project management platforms.
- Experience in startup or high-growth technology companies.
