Technical Product Owner ( Finance and Sales )

Purpose of the Job

As a Technical Product Owner (TPO)

You will be the key bridge between business owners and data engineering teams translating business needs into technical requirements guiding the data engineering team from requirements to release. You will combine business domain knowledge with modern data stack technical expertise to deliver high quality data solutions to our Finance and Sales&Marketing data products. You will work closely with data engineers, global analytics teams and business stakeholders, to plan and drive the end-to-end data data solution delivery from ingestion to analytics-ready datasets.

You will collaborate with the stakeholders to define and maintain a healthy product backlog with well-scoped epics, user stories with clear technical requirements and acceptance criteria for streamlined releases. You will develop a working understanding of the data platform, architecture, governance frameworks and security to ask the right questions during requirements and planning stages to scope work accurately and present a realistic plan for delivery.

As a TPO you are expected to know and understand current architecture patterns and industry trends in the Data & AI landscape to evaluate trade offs, assess risks and plan effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, development, and governance of data pipelines and platforms supporting Sales, Marketing, and Finance use-cases (CRM, marketing automation, campaign analytics, revenue forecasting, order-to-cash, pricing, profitability).
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions; present progress, trade-offs, updates, pre-empt delays and ROI.
• Deliver scalable data products owning the data modeling for domain-specific needs.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, data security, compliance, and audit readiness for domain data assets.
• Optimize data platform for performance and cost; evaluate and implement emerging data technologies as needed.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives (ERP, CRM, finance, external data feeds) and oversee data integration projects.

Required Qualifications

• 7-8 years of experience in data engineering or related field; 2-3 years in a product owner / Senior Business Analyst role.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, data warehousing, and modern data platforms (data lake, lake house, warehouse),SQL.
• Proficiency with distributed data processing frameworks (Databricks, Spark) and batch/streaming data pipelines.
• 3+ years experience with Azure cloud data platforms (Fabric/ADF) and data catalogs, metadata, governance.
• Domain knowledge in Sales, Marketing, and Finance data and analytics (CRM, marketing attribution, revenue recognition, forecasting).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience implementing data governance, data quality frameworks, and data security controls.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with marketing analytics, attribution models, CRM data, and sales forecasting.
• Familiarity with ERP/CRM/Marketing integrations and data exchange formats ( API, JSON, CSV files).
• Knowledge of data visualization BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Experience with data mesh concepts, data contracts, and domain-driven design in data platforms.
• Certifications in cloud data platforms or data engineering (e.g., Azure/Databricks certifications) is a plus.
