About this role
Location: Remote, working with a UK headquartered team; Full time. Direct applicants only; strictly no agencies.
About Electric Miles Electric Miles is driving the future of electric mobility by delivering industry leading software for EV charging management. With a diverse, dynamic team spanning four continents, we empower businesses and drivers to transition seamlessly to electric. We are uniquely positioned to lead the energy revolution, with contracts and relationships across Manufacturers, OEMs, and Utilities to onboard over 100,000 energy assets onto our platform in the next three years. We hold mandates for over 200 MW with local grids to enable EV charging flexibility and help avoid peak period grid outages. Our experienced team brings deep expertise in Energy, Software, and Venture Building. A proud member of the UK government's EV Task Force, Electric Miles is poised to be a global leader in SMART charging and Grid Flexibility Management. Come and help us solve one of the defining challenges of the decade.
The Role We're looking for a hands on, technically fluent Technical Product Manager to own product definition and delivery: everything from detailed requirements through to shipped features, across our residential EV charging app, our new installer journey, and our web based Charge Point Management System (CPMS). You'll sit at the centre of product, engineering, design, and external partners. A defining part of this role is
translation : understanding technical detail deeply, then framing it clearly for a nontechnical audience so the business can make fast, well informed decisions. Equally, you'll turn strategic priorities and customer needs into precise, buildable specifications, and keep delivery moving. This suits someone equally comfortable writing a detailed PRD with user and technical flows, chasing down a missing field in a partner's API spec, and tightening the process that gets work from idea to release.
What You'll Do •
Own product requirements end to end: write clear, detailed PRDs covering user journeys, edge cases, and technical/API flows that engineering can build from with minimal ambiguity. •
Translate between technical and business: take complex technical detail and present it simply and accurately to nontechnical stakeholders, so decisions can be made quickly and with confidence. •
Lead whole projects, including external ones: for example, owning the transformation of our installer app into a partner facing white label product (EVC Wizard), managing a large and evolving set of requirements from an external partner, helping shape the technical stack, and supporting the front end and design work through to delivery. •
Manage the backlog: define, refine, and prioritise in line with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes, breaking work into well formed, actionable user stories. •
Partner closely with engineering: be their go to for "what are we building and why," resolve technical and third party dependencies (for example, incomplete Swagger or API documentation), and unblock questions quickly throughout delivery. •
Collaborate with product owners and design: work day to day with our two product owners and product designer to shape scope, flows, and designs. •
Research and adapt proven solutions: find how a problem has been solved well elsewhere (inside or outside EV charging) and bring that thinking into what we build. •
Improve how we work: continuously sharpen our product and delivery processes to raise efficiency, quality, and predictability. •
Keep stakeholders aligned: engage across the business so everyone is clear on priorities, tradeoffs, and progress.
What We're Looking For • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst in agile software environments. •
Exceptional communicator: able to hold your own in deep technical discussions and distil the nuance clearly for nontechnical stakeholders to support decision making. • Strong technical fluency: comfortable reading and reasoning about API specifications (for example, Swagger or OpenAPI), understanding technical flows and integrations, and working closely with engineers. • Excellent requirement gathering, PRD and user story writing, and business process mapping skills; you make complex things clear. • A proactive, self directed operator who spots issues, drives the discussion, and delivers solutions without needing to be chased. • Process and operations minded: you like bringing order and repeatability to how work gets done. • Outcome focused: you define clear success metrics (KPIs) for what you ship, then use data to measure impact and inform decisions. • A hands on product mindset: you use the product yourself, spot UX and technical improvements, and can judge what is realistic to build. • A genuine team player who thrives in a fast paced startup and collaborates well across a distributed team that spans multiple time zones. • Excellent written and verbal English. • Experience with agile tooling such as Jira, Confluence, or Notion.
Highly Desirable • Knowledge of the EV charging, electric mobility, or wider energy sector. • Familiarity with EV charging and smart energy standards, for example: OCPP (charger to CPMS communication), OCPI (network roaming), ISO 15118 (Plug & Charge), and smart charging, demand side response, and grid flexibility (V2G) concepts. • Experience delivering both mobile and web products. • Experience with white label or partner facing product delivery. • SaaS product management background.
Why Join Electric Miles • Help solve one of the greatest challenges of this decade, with a team spanning four continents. • Real ownership and the chance to shape products used across the EV ecosystem. • Influence the future of EV technology and sustainability. • A supportive, collaborative, and innovation driven culture.
How to Apply If you're excited by innovation, bring an unstoppable can do mindset, and love working in teams committed to transforming mobility; we'd love to hear from you.
