About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Product Manager – Technical to join our AI & Decision Product Enablement (AI & DPE) organization, supporting the Authorization Decisioning platform at Mastercard. This pivotal role involves defining, evolving, and delivering high-performance, real-time AI and decisioning capabilities that process hundreds of thousands of transactions per second on a global scale. The Lead PM – Technical will be responsible for shaping the product vision, developing strategic roadmaps, and managing complex platform capabilities that are critical to secure and efficient payment processing worldwide. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to translate customer needs and business objectives into scalable, resilient solutions that enhance transaction security and operational efficiency.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess several years of experience in product management or technical leadership roles, particularly in delivering complex platforms or services. A strong technical foundation is essential, including a solid understanding of system design, architecture, and backend transaction processing systems. Proven experience in managing product roadmaps, backlogs, and end-to-end delivery from concept to deployment is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments, make data-driven decisions, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred qualifications include experience in payments, fraud detection, or financial transaction systems, along with a background in software development or engineering. Deep knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, along with expertise in decomposing requirements into actionable user stories, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Own and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for platform capabilities aligned with business goals and measurable outcomes.
- Deeply understand customer needs, market dynamics, and ecosystem factors to prioritize features and enhancements effectively.
- Translate system designs into detailed epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria to guide engineering teams.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Architecture, TPMs, UX, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment, clarity, and delivery readiness.
- Lead story elaboration, refinement sessions, and validate technical feasibility through rigorous analysis of platform constraints.
- Develop comprehensive functional artifacts such as system flows, APIs, and interface specifications for engineering teams.
- Use agile best practices to manage the product lifecycle, continuously evaluate outcomes, and implement process improvements.
- Utilize runtime metrics and data to inform backlog prioritization, optimize delivery speed, and improve product quality.
- Foster strong relationships across global, cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Influence stakeholders and leadership without direct authority, building trust and long-term partnerships to drive product success.
