Job Overview Job Title: Lead – Data Migration (ITSM / ServiceNow)
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced
Lead Data Migration Specialist with strong
Python expertise and proven experience in
migrating data across ITSM platforms , particularly
ServiceNow . This role will lead end-to-end data migration initiatives, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and seamless transition while managing stakeholders and technical teams. Knowledge of
Salesforce platform will be considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities Data Migration Leadership
- Lead and oversee end-to-end data migration projects from legacy ITSM tools to modern platforms (preferably ServiceNow).
- Define data migration strategy, approach, and governance framework.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (developers, analysts, platform SMEs) to execute migration programs.
Technical Execution
- Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) pipelines using Python.
- Build reusable scripts and automation frameworks for data validation, reconciliation, and error handling.
- Work with structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources (databases, APIs, files).
ServiceNow Expertise
- Perform data migration into ServiceNow modules (Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, etc.).
- Configure and utilize ServiceNow import sets, transform maps, and integration tools.
- Ensure data model alignment with ServiceNow standards and best practices.
Data Quality & Governance
- Define data cleansing, deduplication, and validation rules.
- Ensure data integrity, completeness, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Conduct reconciliation, auditing, and sign-off processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and mapping.
- Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
- Provide guidance and best practices to internal teams.
Delivery & Risk Management
- Identify migration risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely delivery aligned with project timelines and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation in migration processes.
Experience Required Skills & Qualifications
- 9–10 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or integration roles.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale ITSM data migration projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python (data processing, scripting, automation).
- Hands-on experience with: ETL tools and frameworks SQL and relational databases Data mapping, transformation logic, and validation
- Experience with APIs, JSON, XML, and file-based data exchange.
ITSM & ServiceNow
- Hands-on experience in ServiceNow data migration (Import Sets, Transform Maps).
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and ITSM data structures.
Preferred / Nice To Have
- Experience with Salesforce platform (data migration, integrations, or objects model).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security standards.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
