Technical Lead - Python/Golang

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Backend Technical Lead to design, develop, and lead the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Python, Golang, or Java, along with a proven ability to drive technical architecture, mentor engineers, and work closely with product and cross-functional teams.

This role requires a strong balance of technical depth, system design, coding, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
• Own backend architecture and make technical decisions around scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Drive the development of microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed applications.
• Be hands-on with coding, code reviews, debugging, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Translate business and product requirements into robust technical designs and implementation plans.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, design patterns, and development processes.
• Conduct architecture and design reviews and identify opportunities for technical improvements.
• Mentor and guide backend engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
• Take ownership of system reliability, observability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
• Contribute to technology strategy, platform modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in hiring, technical interviews, and building a strong backend engineering team.

Required Technical Skills

Programming

Strong hands-on experience in one or more of the following:

• Python
• Golang
• Java

Strong understanding of object-oriented and/or functional programming concepts, clean code, design patterns, and software engineering principles.

Backend & API Development

• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of API design, authentication, authorization, security, and versioning.
• Experience with asynchronous processing, messaging, and event-driven architectures.

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Proven experience leading backend engineering teams or acting as a technical lead.
• Strong mentoring and coaching abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
