Role purpose

We are looking for a hands-on CRM Technical Lead who has experience designing and developing a CRM solution from the ground up, while also having strong Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform experience. This person will lead the technical design, development, integrations, security, and long-term operation of our CRM landscape.

Experience with an open-source CRM is beneficial but not mandatory.

Essential requirements

• 7–10+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in a CRM technical lead, solution architect, or senior CRM developer role. 
• Proven experience designing and developing a custom CRM application or heavily customised CRM solution from requirements through go-live. 
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Dataverse. 
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Customer Insights/Marketing, or custom model-driven applications. 
• Strong knowledge of: 
• Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules, security roles, teams, auditing, and data migration 
• Model-driven Power Apps 
• Power Automate 
• C#/.NET plugins, custom workflow activities, and custom APIs 
• JavaScript/TypeScript CRM form customisation
• REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and third-party integrations 
• Power BI reporting and Dataverse reporting feeds 
• Experience designing CRM data models, lead/contact/account processes, opportunity pipelines, activities, workflow automation, and case/service processes. 
• Ability to lead developers through code reviews, technical standards, release processes, and production support. 
• Strong SQL/database design and data-migration experience. 
• Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub, Git, CI/CD, solution management, and separate development/UAT/production environments. 
• Strong understanding of access control, Microsoft Entra ID, application registrations, service principals, CRM security roles, audit logs, and data-protection controls. 

Preferred requirements

• Experience with an open-source CRM such as SuiteCRM, Odoo, ERPNext/Frappe, EspoCRM, or VTiger. 
• PHP, Python, Node.js, or Java development experience. 
• Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and data integration tools. 
• Experience with admissions, sales, marketing, customer-service, or education-sector CRM processes. 
• Integration experience with ERP, finance systems, websites, email systems, WhatsApp, telephony, student-information systems, and data warehouses. 

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and roadmap for the CRM platform. 
• Design and build CRM features, custom modules, data models, workflows, user interfaces, and reporting. 
• Lead Dynamics 365 and Power Platform development, configuration, upgrades, and support. 
• Design robust integrations between CRM and external systems. 
• Set standards for code quality, testing, documentation, security, deployment, backup, and monitoring. 
• Work with business stakeholders to turn operational needs into scalable CRM solutions. 
• Lead data migration, data-quality controls, and permission/access design. 
• Manage development releases across development, UAT, and production. 
• Mentor developers and review technical designs and code. 
• Support incident resolution and continuously improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
