About the role
You will lead the technical design and implementation of AI-powered applications, with a strong focus on Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), intelligent agents and production AI services. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can make architecture decisions, write high-quality code and guide other developers.
What youll do - Design and develop LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines and AI agent workflows.
- Build reliable retrieval systems using embeddings, vector search, document processing and context-management strategies.
- Evaluate and integrate foundation models and APIs from leading LLM providers, as well as appropriate open-source models.
- Develop backend AI services and APIs using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Improve prompt design, retrieval quality, model responses, latency, reliability and cost efficiency.
- Design evaluation, observability and guardrail approaches for production AI systems.
- Work with databases, vector stores, caching, queues and cloud infrastructure used by AI applications.
- Lead technical discussions, review code and mentor engineers while remaining actively involved in development.
- Collaborate with product, frontend and backend teams to convert business requirements into scalable AI solutions.

- Strong Python software-development skills.
- Practical experience with LLM applications and RAG architecture.
- Understanding of embeddings, chunking, retrieval, reranking and vector search.
- Experience integrating AI models into APIs and production applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot model, data and application-level issues.
- Good understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases and cloud deployment.
- Strong ownership, technical leadership and communication skills.
Good to have: experience with LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, fine-tuning, multimodal AI, Celery/RabbitMQ, Docker, AWS or similar cloud services.
