About this role
- No of Vacancies: 01
- Experience: 8+ years, including 3+ years in technical leadership
- Qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience (strong experience matters more than the degree)
- Salary: Best in industry
Job Overview:
Arista already has experienced developers and team leads. We need one person who can take ownership of the technical direction of the department and raise the standard of how we build, review and deliver technology projects.
The person should be strong enough technically that management and Project Managers do not have to second-guess every major technical recommendation. This is not a pure architect or Project Manager role. It needs technical judgement, people leadership, client communication and the ability to improve the way the team works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own technical solutions Review important requirements, architecture, integrations, technology choices and major technical decisions before the team commits to them.
- Lead the technical team Guide Team Leads and senior developers across different stacks. Challenge weak solutions, remove technical roadblocks and help people make better decisions.
- Stay hands-on enough: You do not need to code every day, but you must be able to get into a technical problem, understand the code or architecture and help the team find a solution when required.
- Improve delivery quality: Set practical standards for code reviews, security, performance, testing, deployments, maintainability and technical handovers.
- Bring AI into day-to-day engineering: Use AI and automation where they genuinely improve development, testing, documentation, QA, internal tools or client solutions. Measure whether they are improving speed or quality.
- Develop the team: Identify skill gaps, mentor senior people, recommend training and push the team to learn technologies that are relevant to future projects.
- Use people better: Work with management on utilization and capability planning. Decide when to cross-train, when to hire, when to automate and when a skill may no longer be required.
- Improve technical documentation: Make sure useful documentation exists for requirements, architecture, APIs, environments, deployments, handovers and maintenance.
- Work directly with clients: Join discovery and technical calls when needed. Explain solutions, risks, timelines, trade-offs and dependencies clearly to technical and non-technical customers.
- Support estimation and planning Help teams estimate complex work more accurately and identify technical risks before commitments are made.
- Help shape the technology roadmap: Work with management on which technologies and capabilities Arista should build, improve or stop investing in.
Required Skills
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing or reviewing real production systems.
- Strong in at least one software development stack, with enough breadth to work across web, APIs, databases, cloud and modern front-end technologies.
- Experience leading senior developers or multiple technical teams, not only coordinating tasks.
- Good understanding of architecture, APIs/integrations, databases, security, performance and deployment practices.
- Current understanding of AI-assisted development and practical automation opportunities.
- Very good spoken and written communication. Comfortable speaking directly with international clients.
- Strong problem-solving and learning ability. Able to understand an unfamiliar technology quickly instead of waiting for a specialist for every new requirement.
- Comfortable working where every process is not already perfect. Expected to create structure where it is missing.
- Able to balance technical quality with delivery time, business needs and commercial reality.
This role is probably not for you if:
- Your recent experience is mainly project tracking, coordination or people administration.
- You need to personally know every technology before you can lead a solution.
- You have mainly managed junior teams and have not challenged or mentored experienced engineers.
- You prefer to wait for perfect requirements, processes or resources before taking ownership.
- Your idea of AI adoption is limited to asking developers to use an AI coding tool.
Success in this role should be visible in better technical decisions, fewer avoidable escalations, stronger documentation, faster delivery, better use of the team, higher adoption of useful AI/automation and a clear improvement in the capability of the department.
