Technical & Design Head

Role & responsibilities

• Own profile and system design end to end, covering profiles, gaskets, hardware and accessories, from concept through testing, documentation, release and market launch.
• Create competitive, differentiated systems that meet codes and standards, better competitors specification and price, and that Sales can sell confidently on aesthetics, performance and innovation.
• Design for manufacture, so that sections and assemblies fabricate, assemble and install with minimum operations, waste and skill dependency.
• Align designs with fabrication machine capability, and define the tooling, fixtures and machine data each new system needs.
• Ensure air, water, wind and structural testing on every system, documented and traceable to the released design.
• Release complete documentation under version control and sign-off: drawings, BOMs, estimation inputs, catalogues, and fabrication, assembly and installation manuals.
• Lead the Fenestration (including NPD) and Faade (design and estimation) technical teams by allocating work, setting priorities, reviewing quality and building technical depth.
• Train channel partners to build their fabrication and installation capability.
• Support Sales and Estimation by reviewing project drawings and specifications and directing the right system to each enquiry.
• Represent the company technically with architects, consultants, developers and contractors on specifications and design approvals.
• International exposure may include trade fairs such as BAU in Germany and ZAK events, depending on business needs.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with 10+ years in aluminium windows, doors, faade and cladding systems, extrusion or profile development, or closely related architectural systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of system development: profile design, component integration, testing and commercial release.
• Strong understanding of aluminium profiles, gaskets, hardware, accessories and system compatibility.
• Practical design-for-manufacture and fabrication feasibility experience, working with manufacturing and tooling teams.
• Exposure to air, water, wind and structural performance testing, including troubleshooting and design modifications.
• Hands-on AutoCAD, and working knowledge of at least one 3D or BIM platform such as Revit, CATIA or Inventor.
• Experience leading technical, product development or design teams across Fenestration NPD, Faade design and Estimation.
• Willing to relocate to Hyderabad.
• Preferred: a structured, standards-driven environment with formal design reviews, release gates and change control; knowledge of thermal performance, structural calculations and test protocols; experience working with architects, consultants and developers; experience training fabricators.
