Role overview

Karats Interview Content team designs, writes, tests, and monitors the technical interview questions and scoring rubrics used in every Karat interview. From the questions candidates see to the rubrics interviewers score them against, our work spans technical domains from software engineering to data science and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Design and build technical interview questions, including coding exercises, debugging challenges, knowledge assessments, and real-world engineering scenarios.
• Write and test interview content across multiple programming languages, checking that solutions are correct and consistent.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to speed up content creation, while applying engineering judgment to keep it accurate.
• Conduct peer reviews to make sure content meets Karats technical and quality standards.
• Update content based on candidate performance data, interviewer feedback, and Content Corrections requests.
• Partner with Content Architecture to improve content development processes and assessment quality.
• Help improve development standards, templates, and documentation for the Content team.
• This is not a traditional software engineering role; you wont be building or maintaining production systems.
• This position requires a schedule that overlaps with U.S. business hours.

The experience you will bring

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience (post-academic, post-internship), working in at least one modern programming language
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: debugging, testing, reviewing code, and giving constructive technical feedback
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini Code Assist, or similar)
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Experience working remotely on global, distributed teams, with availability during U.S. hours preferred

Location

This position is only available to candidates residing in Bengaluru (formerly known as Bangalore). While our team operates 100% remotely, we are currently limiting hiring to this specific location. Applications from other cities in India will not be considered at this time.
