We are seeking a senior renewable energy professional with combined expertise in wind resource assessment, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and technical due diligence including Lender's Technical Advisor (LTA), Independent Engineer and Owner's Engineer roles. The successful candidate will support and lead advisory assignments across wind, solar, hybrid and storage projects, including Round-the-Clock (RTC), Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) schemes and Standalone BESS systems including projects under the Viability Gap Funding schemes. The role requires strong analytical capability, practical understanding of project development and bankability, and confidence in working with investors, developers and lenders.
Responsibilities
- This role focuses on leading wind resource assessments and energy yield studies using industry-standard tools, covering wind data analysis, flow modelling, wake assessments, micro-siting, and layout optimisation.
- The position is also responsible for preparing energy production forecasts, uncertainty assessments, P50/P90 estimates, and reviewing third-party technical reports for project bankability, investment, and financing decisions. It further involves integrating and optimising Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for renewable and hybrid energy projects.
- The role supports technical due diligence, construction monitoring, grid code compliance reviews, and risk assessments for wind, solar, and storage projects. Responsibilities include evaluating project designs, contracts, warranties, financial model assumptions, and operational strategies while preparing high-quality reports for investors and lenders. The position also requires client engagement, multidisciplinary coordination, business development support, and providing technical guidance on energy transition solutions, including green hydrogen and Power-to-X studies.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy, technical advisory, project development, consultancy, IPP, or OEM environments
- Strong expertise in wind resource assessment and energy yield analysis, with hands-on experience in WindPro and WAsP.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Renewable Energy or a related engineering discipline
- Experience in BESS integration, sizing, and optimisation for hybrid, RTC, and FDRE renewable energy projects.
- Proven background in technical due diligence, lender advisory, independent engineering, or transaction advisory assignments.
- Good understanding of wind, solar, and energy storage project lifecycles, project risks, contracts, grid integration, and bankability.
- Strong analytical, reporting, client management, and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to manage projects independently
- Exposure to Python-based energy modelling, green hydrogen, Power-to-X projects, and experience in the Indian or international renewable energy market would be an added advantage.
