Technical Assistant For a Ship Management Company, South Mumbai

LOOKING FOR AN ASSISTANT IN TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT FOR A REPUTED SHIP MANAGEMENT COMPANY BASED IN SOUTH MUMBAI, OPERATING A FLEET OF BULK CARRIERS.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• To provide technical Assistance to Technical Superintendent in day to day work for smooth ship operation
• Be responsible for procurement of spares, stores and assist Technical Superintendent in Class and Statutory matters.
• To process Engine/Deck/ Bridge spare parts and stores as per Indents of the vessels in consultation with the Technical Superintendent.
• Process Spares/Stores Indent after due approval from superintendent for obtaining most economical cost quotation.
• Place order for the spares parts, on getting dispatch readiness from the party, give dispatch instructions accordingly.
• Liaison with supplier for dispatch of Spares and monitor arrival, port clearance and delivery onboard.
• The Spares /Stores invoice received to be duly scrutinized, verified with delivery receipt duly signed and stamped by Chief Engineer/Master and pass to the billing department for payment to the supplier.
• Maintain inventories of stores and spares on board.
• Assist Superintendent in preparing repairs reports, routine as well as for drydocking repairs.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-3 years working experience preferably in the Ship Management/ Shipping Industry.
• Pleasant Personality - (Male/ Female)
• Good communication skills and command on English.
• Sense of urgency.
• Good employment record.
• Able to work in a multi-tasking environment.
• Able to start work immediately or within short notice.
• Must have a permanent residence in Mumbai.
