Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

1. Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, REST APIs and microservices, with the ability to review and guide product development.
2. Proven solution-design capability covering architecture/design patterns, API contracts, scalability, security, resiliency, observability and performance.
3. Strong experience in event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka/JMS, including partitioning, consumer groups, failure handling.
4. Demonstrated technical leadership through estimations, task breakdown, code/design reviews, mentoring, defect resolution, release support and stakeholder communication.

Good-to-Have

Banking or financial-product experience; cloud exposure

Expectations from the Role 

• Own the technical design and delivery of scalable Java/Spring Boot services, APIs and reusable architecture components from an SDLC perspective.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into solution designs, API contracts, data flows, technical tasks, estimates and implementation plans.
• Lead event-driven and integration design, ensuring reliability through retries, error handling, reconciliation and observability.
• Enforce engineering quality through design/code reviews, secure-coding practices, performance tuning, and compliance checks.
• Mentor developers, remove technical blockers, coordinate with architecture/product/testing/DevOps stakeholders for accomplishing product delivery.
